4. Read the following passage and write its summary in about 60 (sixty) words :

Trees give shade for the benefit of others. They stand in the sun, bear the scorching heat and produce fruits by which others make profit. The character of good man is like that of trees. What is the use of this perishable body, if there is no use of it for the benefit of Mankind ?

Sandal wood, the more it is rubbed, the more scent it produces; suggarcane, the more it is burnt, the more brightly it shines. The men who are noble at heart do not loose their qualities even in loosing their lives. They do not want praise from others.They may die at this moment or they may live long, but follow the right path.

Life itself is unprofitable to a man who does not live for others. Those who lay down their lives for the sake of a noble cause, a friend or even for the sake of a stranger will certainly live for ever in a world of happiness.

Imagine you are a reporter. You are now at a railway station. You see a man sitting in the waiting room with one foot missing. Collect the information about his missing foot and write a report for the newspapers.

5. Read the passage below and answer the questions that follow in about 30 (thirty) words :

Kanyakumari is a beauty spot surrounded by sea on three sides; the Indian Ocean stretches away to the south; to the east lies the Bay of Bengal, and to the west the Arbian Sea. Pilgrims from many parts of the country come here to bathe at the meeting point of the three seas and to worship in the temple. The sea around Kanyakumari is generally calm; many visitors feel that a certain peace and quiet always rests over the place.

The hours of sunrise and sunset are the best hours for enjoying the beauty of the place; the sun rises from the Bay of Bengal in the morning and set in the Arbian Sea in the morning. In fact it is the only spot in India where one can see the sun rising from the sea and setting in the sea. On the day of the full moon, the sun goes down in the Arbian Sea and the moon comes up from the Bay of Bengal at the same time, looking like two balls of fire.
