Girls outshine boys yet again in Maharashtra HSC examination 2016.
For the fifth consecutive year, Percentage of girl passed is more than percentage of boys passed in Maharashtra Board Class 12th exams. Pass percentage of Girls in Maharashtra HSC board 2016 is 90.50% which much more compared to pass percentage of Boys i.e 83.46%

Total No of Girls Appeared in 2016: 5,88,362
Total No of Boy Appeared in 2016: 7,31,392
Total No of students Pass in 2016: 11,42,882
Total No of Girls Pass in 2016: 5,32,482
Total No of Boy Pass in 2016: 6,10,400
This year around 13.19 lakh students appeared for the examination.The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education, conducts the HSC and SSC Examinations in the state of Maharashtra through its nine Divisional Boards located at Pune, Mumbai, Aurangabad, Nasik, Kolhapur, Amravati, Latur, Nagpur and Ratnagiri.

Overall pass percentage of students appeared in Maharashtra HSC Board 2016 is 86.60%, which is quiet lower then year 2015 which was 91.26%.
For the fifth consecutive year, the Konkan Divisional Board tops the Maharashtra results as 93.26 % students from Konkan region passing the examination. Of the nine regional boards, Nashik board scored the least with 83.99 % students clearing the examinations.
Mumbai, that has the highest number of students, narrowly edged the bottom place with 86.08 % students passing the HSC exams.
