2. Read the passage given below and answer the questions that follow:-
I had under taken this perilous swim not to gain fame but to prove once again to the world that the Indians are no longer afraid. To the youth of India this triumth will have dramatically demonstrated that nothing as impossible for them-all they have to do is to believe and persevere and the goal wil be theirs. For it is my firm convection that unless we individually become adventurous and nationally restless and enterprising, India will not be able to break the bond of apathy and tradition, whether on the physical or the intellectual fronts. My Indian Ocean venture was a humble contribution towards this end.

PART – D
10. Make précis of the following passage and give it a suitable title:
a) It is possible for a teacher situated miles away to affect the spirit of the pupils by his way of living. It would be idle for me, if I were a liar, to teach boys to tell the truth. A cowardly teacher would never succeed in making his boys valiant, and a stranger to self restraint could never teach his pupils the value of self restraint. I saw, therefore, that I must be an eternal object – lesson to the boys and girls living with me. They thus became my teachers and I learnt I must be good and live straight., if only for their sake. I may say that the increasing discipline and restraint I imposed on myself at the Tolstoy Farm was mostly due to those wards of mine.
b) Suppose you are Himalaya. You live at 1158-E, Teacher Colony, Dehradun. Write a letter to your younger Brother advising him to be serious in his studies.
c) Write a letter to the Editor of news paper expressing your views about the hazards of reckless driving on the city roads.
