PHYSICAL   CHEMISTRY

For Std   XII,   Numericals   are   of   3   and   4   marks   for   CET   they   are   1   Mark.   Read   the   numerical   questions   properly

  •  Select   the   formula   from   given   data   and   what   is   asked   to   calculate
  • Sometimes   extra   information   is   given   like   temperature   or   pressure   which   is   not   used   in   calculations
  • See   that   units   are   same   here   as   students   make   mistake   and   take   units   as   it   is for Eg :  g   and   kg or R   value   in   J   and   w/∆H   in   kJ
  • After   substituting   values   in   the   formula correctly   use   log   table.   10’s   power   add   at   the end
  • Students   make   mistakes   in   putting   decimal point   hence   learn   properly   the   use   of   log   table from   a   maths   teacher
  • We   should   also   know   the   conversion   of   units between   m↑3, dm↑3, cm↑3,   mm   etc.
  • After   calculation   write   units   along   with   your numerical   values
  • Remember   no   units   for   constants
  • You   can   solve   numericals   properly   provided   you know   all   the   formulae   along   with   terms   used   in formula   by   heart
  • Write   logs   on   one   side   of   the   page
  •  Do   not   keep   numericals   from   any   units   as   option, some   logs   of   constant   remember   by   heart   to   save time
  • Mole   concept   is   basic   ideas   for   numericals   in   Std XII   Board   exam   as   well   as   competitive   entrance exam
  • In   XII   std   exam   if   time   does   not   permit   then atleast   write   correct   formula   as   it   carries   some mark
  •   Along with   numericals   there   are   definitions, terms   to   explain   and   some   derivations   which   maybe   asked   for   2   or   3   marks
  • Long questions   are   combining   2   questions   or many   i.e.   sum   of   all   remaining   weightage.   The   long   questions   is   of   7   marks.   There   is   always   a break   of   7   marks.   The   questions   are   labeled diagram (descripTion   should   include   important points)
  •   Reactions
  • Advantages /   disadvantages   /   uses   etc
  •  Measurement   of   emf   of   cell   /   Daniel   cell   /   Dry cell   /   Fuel   cell   /   Colomel   electrode   /   lead accumulator/   methods   to   avoid   corrosion   /applications   of   emf   series   etc.   can   be   asked for   4   marks

Chapter-6-General   principals   and processes   of   isolation   of   elements

  1.   Short   notes-   concentration   processes   ,Froth floatation, leaching,   roasting   ,   calcination,   pyro,   hydro,   electro-metallurgy,   refining process,   etc
  2. Many diagrams[no   Ellingham   diagram]
  3.  Many reactions
  4.  No   numericals

Chapter-7-p-block   elements

  1.   Trends in   physical   and   chemical   properTies   of 15,   16,   17,18   groups,   anomalous   behaviour   of first   element   of   each   group
  2.  Many reactions
  3.  Many structures-   oxides   of   N,   P,   S,   and interhalogen   compounds,   PCl3   ,PCl5,   oxyacids of   P   and   Cl
  4.  Diagrame- allotrpes   of   S   and   P,   PCl3,   PCl5,   IF7
  5.  No numericals

  1. Thanxx…Sir…I hope these questions will help us in exams.
Please post important questions list of chemistry-II fast for Maharashtra Board.

    1. Hi Sakshi, it will help you to prepare for your boards. We shall keep on updating more and more of important questions as given by our sources. However please prepare yourself with entire syllabus.

    1. Hi Sakshi, thanks for your valuable input. We have made the changes accordingly. We would also appreciate your more inputs to make our website more helpful to students.

  2. I suggest to read entire syllabus if 12th thouroughly and hope qs in the respective papers would be asked from the exercises given after each chapter.

  4. on what bases are this importance marked ??
if only this importance are studied , atleast how much marks will be obtained???

  5. Sir u said early that 50% aggregate marks of board should be need for mhcet if we are not getting 50% marks and getting good marks in mhcet than we will get the admission or not

  6. In chemistry important questions. …There are some chapters which have NO NUMERICALS written….what does it mean?…is that we have to skip the numerical of that chapter….plz revert soon….
